My birchbox has arrived to my joy on the same day as cohorted box. Happy happy days! This month’s box comes in two designs that subscribers were able to pick from. And both are in team with Birchday as it is Birchbox birthday. Now onto my items:

1.Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (Full size – £23.50)

A Birchbox Exclusive product suitable for all skin types. It is recommended to apply once or twice daily to give radiance, reduce the redness, diminish enlarged pores. It sounds pretty good so I’m looking forward to put this up to the test and see if this stands up to its promises.

2.John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler (Full size – £16.00)

I’m quite excited about this product, as I’ve put my hair to a fair amount of bleaching last month and now am very keen on trying out all kinds of nourishments for hair! This little bottle promises to get rid of any knots and tangles and soothe the scalp at the same time. It definitely has a strong citrusy smell to it, which is relaxing in my opinion. My only concern is that the sample size is somewhat small, I’m not sure whether it will be enough to actually see any effects.

3.Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag (£17.00)

Another Birchbox Exclusive. Now the colour of this will never be something that I’ll wear as a lipstick. It really just looks funny on me, so I’m glad this is actually made as a multi-purpose product. I haven’t tried this out yet but there can never be too many blushes 😉

4.Bliss Foot Patrol (£18.50)

This is an exfoliating and soothing feet treatment. I don’t use specific feet treatments so I have mixed feeling about this item. It’s not particularly necessary nor is it something I’d buy for myself. Yet I gave it a try, it has a lovely minty smell and is sort of cooling on the feet. I won’t use it daily as it’s recommended but I’ll get it out now and again.  An unlikely purchase in the future but I guess the whole point of subscription boxes is getting to try out things you wouldn’t get to otherwise.

5.Benefit The POREfessional : license to blot (Full size – £15.50)

I am always chuffed to find Benefit products in a box. Since I haven’t tried this yet I’m even happier to receive it. Benefit is not very shy with the description of their oil-blotting stick, though :

100% saw continuous mattifying action

97% said it helps minimise the look of pores

100% said it absorbs excess surface oil

So this definitely raises my expectations up high! To be continued.. 🙂

6.The Birchbrush (£5.99)

This adorable brush is beauty bonus this month and works as any usual tangle-free brush. I think it’s a great little addition – as everyone will use it!

Verdict : Birchbox always has fresh and bright boxes, and this month is not an exception. Saying that, it’s not my favourite out of all I had and since it’s their birthday box – I had higher expectations. I also would be happier to get more make up items! I hope Birchbox game is stronger next month! 6.5/10 this month. Which is just above average, but it’s still a positive score. My favourite items are Benefit Oil-Blotting Stick and John Masters Organics Detangler. What are yours?
