I got my Cohorted Box once again! And I’ll go straight into my review! This month box includes:

1. Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To Die For Mascara – Black (RRP: £15)

Lengthening and volumizing mascara. Doesn’t look like anything extra ordinary and I have never tried or heard too much about this brand. But since my current mascara has lived a full life, I was keen on seeing this in my box. Now that I’ve used it for a week, I can actually say that this is one of better mascaras I’ve used. I will continue using it day to day basis. Mascaras almost never stand up to my expectations, so this is certainly something!

2. Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Cream 30ml (RRP: £10)

Cream that promises “firmness, elasticity” (ummm does this not sound a bit contradictory?) and radiance. I wasn’t particularly excited to see a moisturiser, as I have my favourite from Lush. I did incorporate this into my routine, though, as an extra moisturiser (yes, you read it, I am using two moisturisers!), as my skin is starting to dry out more than usual because of the cooler weather. It’s a very rich cream, so you don’t need much. It feels nice on the skin and so far I’m quite happy but I” restrain from any more comments until I finish the tub completely.

3. Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser 60ml (RRP: £15)

My oh my, Cohorted is really loving Bare Minerals this month! I haven’t tried this out yet but I will review it once I do!

4. Bare Minerals Marvellous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotist (RRP: £16.99)

It’s described as “vibrant, holographic violet peach” and as you apply it, the shade should shift from pale purple to coral-peach/ gold pearl. It does look the part but I don’t really think it changes on the lips. I feel like it’s simply a nice gloss over a matte lipstick or on its own, and I do really like it. But I don’t think it lives up to its description!

5. Ciate Nail Polish in Serendipity (RRP: £9)

“Feminine, chic and effortlessly stylish”. Ciate is a pretty good brand, so I was happy to see this and the colour is just so Christmasy, like a confetti. Very very happy to get this and I will rock it in December 🙂

Overall, the box value is £65.99, which is as always – amazing for costing me only £22.49. I do miss an eyeshadow palette in this month’s box, though, and I feel like this box is the least exciting I’ve got. But it is still pretty great and I can’t say I’m disappointed, I can’t wait to see what’s in the next one !

How did you like yours? Or did you try any of these before? What’s your favourite from the box?

Cohorted News for all subscription boxes addicts

Hello..? Firstly, I know I basically ignored my blog for a month, so for all my followers who even have forgotten who I am – I’m sorry. There’s no good excuses for this, apart from some personal issues that are taking my spare time away, and might do so again for the next couple of months. But I’m working on it. I will try to achieve 2 weekly posts from now on, again – might not work 100% for the next couple of months, but that’s what I’ll aim for. So you can expect more usual scheduled posts from me.

Now as this has been said – I’m not sure if everyone of you’ve seen these news yet, but my favourite make up box has now released 2 subscription boxes AND 4 themed boxes! Cohorted as of 1st October has released Black Edition and White Edition Fragrance box subscriptions. It’s as if my birthday and Christmas have came at the same time haha.

Since I am a really big fan of all cohorted boxes so far I figured why not share these news with you guys too. So for those who haven’t read my cohorted reviews before, they used to have a box every month that you could pre-order the month before for 22.49 with postage fees. This has changed now and so next month I am getting both of their subscription boxes (so excited). The Black Edition Box comes in their classic black ribboned box.

They have pumped up their prices to £35 a month, which definitely steeper than other boxes but from what I understand their boxes value went up a bit as well ( minimum £70). It does include full sized big branded products, though, so I do feel like its worth it, as it really has been a proper treat every month so far. November box sneak peak shows us Sigma Foundation brush, and Nailsinc, bare minerals, laura mercier branded secret products. And value is meant to come to £85, which sounds pretty amazing, right?!

Now the White Edition box is all about fragrances! It’s £35 as well but is only a quarterly subscription.

The box contains only 1 full sized product and a selection of “luxe size minis”, plus and exclusive sample sized mini, and has a minimum value of £80. I don’t know how big the samples will be, so this is an unknown ground for me. But I always seem to stick with one specific scent until finished and only then purchase a new one, and I feel like I should have a little collection to chose from! So this could be perfect. November’s box value comes up to whopping £125 and it will have Guerlain, Versace, Annick Goutal Paris and Boucheron Paris. I honestly can’t wait till next month!

Now their other 4 boxes can be pre-ordered as usual, but their site only displays two of them at the moment, so I’m not sure whether other are not available yet or they are already gone? But the two that are up are Glow & Go Beauty Box (£19.99) and Hair Repair Box(£29.99). The difference with these, there’s no secret, you can see all the items before purchasing. I think the hair box looks pretty gorgeous! But then I think I spent enough on my subscriptions!

So there you have it. This isn’t an add or anything, I honestly love Cohorted boxes this much. Upcoming posts next week will include October’s Cohorted Box review (no surprise) and a post on a Mac and Anastasia Beverly Hills Haul. Stay tuned if you still remember me 😦

P.S. Be patient my beauty fellows until I catch up on your blogs too!

Beauty Mail – Birchbox September

My birchbox has arrived to my joy on the same day as cohorted box. Happy happy days! This month’s box comes in two designs that subscribers were able to pick from. And both are in team with Birchday as it is Birchbox birthday. Now onto my items:

1.Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (Full size – £23.50)

A Birchbox Exclusive product suitable for all skin types. It is recommended to apply once or twice daily to give radiance, reduce the redness, diminish enlarged pores. It sounds pretty good so I’m looking forward to put this up to the test and see if this stands up to its promises.

2.John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler (Full size – £16.00)

I’m quite excited about this product, as I’ve put my hair to a fair amount of bleaching last month and now am very keen on trying out all kinds of nourishments for hair! This little bottle promises to get rid of any knots and tangles and soothe the scalp at the same time. It definitely has a strong citrusy smell to it, which is relaxing in my opinion. My only concern is that the sample size is somewhat small, I’m not sure whether it will be enough to actually see any effects.

3.Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag (£17.00)

Another Birchbox Exclusive. Now the colour of this will never be something that I’ll wear as a lipstick. It really just looks funny on me, so I’m glad this is actually made as a multi-purpose product. I haven’t tried this out yet but there can never be too many blushes 😉

4.Bliss Foot Patrol (£18.50)

This is an exfoliating and soothing feet treatment. I don’t use specific feet treatments so I have mixed feeling about this item. It’s not particularly necessary nor is it something I’d buy for myself. Yet I gave it a try, it has a lovely minty smell and is sort of cooling on the feet. I won’t use it daily as it’s recommended but I’ll get it out now and again.  An unlikely purchase in the future but I guess the whole point of subscription boxes is getting to try out things you wouldn’t get to otherwise.

5.Benefit The POREfessional : license to blot (Full size – £15.50)

I am always chuffed to find Benefit products in a box. Since I haven’t tried this yet I’m even happier to receive it. Benefit is not very shy with the description of their oil-blotting stick, though :

100% saw continuous mattifying action

97% said it helps minimise the look of pores

100% said it absorbs excess surface oil

So this definitely raises my expectations up high! To be continued.. 🙂

6.The Birchbrush (£5.99)

This adorable brush is beauty bonus this month and works as any usual tangle-free brush. I think it’s a great little addition – as everyone will use it!

Verdict : Birchbox always has fresh and bright boxes, and this month is not an exception. Saying that, it’s not my favourite out of all I had and since it’s their birthday box – I had higher expectations. I also would be happier to get more make up items! I hope Birchbox game is stronger next month! 6.5/10 this month. Which is just above average, but it’s still a positive score. My favourite items are Benefit Oil-Blotting Stick and John Masters Organics Detangler. What are yours?

Beauty Mail – Cohorted September

It’s that happy time of the month again – when I hear a knock on my door and see hermes courier with a box with my name on it! Well the spoiler is in the title, so no surprise here as I reveal I’ve got my September’s Cohorted box, you guys (well, girls but you know what I mean 😉 ). This is my third only Cohorted box as they can be particularly hard to purchase as there are limited numbers. Yet I managed to get three in a row, so I guess as long as you try to get one as the sale goes on you are likely to get one. It comes in the same black ribboned box every month, which makes you feel like you’re getting a stylish gift every month 😉 Although I haven’t repurposed any of the boxes yet. Usually the box contains 4 items but this month it has an extra bonus sample that they haven’t counted into the value. Talking of value, the box costs £22.49 with postage fees and this month’s is worth £71.50! So, it’s pretty great for what you get, I’d say. My items this month are:

1.theBalm Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer 3.7ml (the extra bonus item)

A pretty tiny sample tub of quick-drying primer. I haven’t tried many of theBalm products, so I’m happy to get this. Plus I use an eye primer all the time! This will certainly be put to use very quickly.

2.Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Walkyrie RRP: £19

A jumbo crayon design lipstick seems to be in every subscription box lately, so no shock in seeing one here. Getting Nars lip crayon makes me very happy, though. And in all the boxes I had so far (birchbox, glossybox included) this one is by far the best. I seem to never get the right shades for me. Most of the time they are either way too pink or orange and just don’t do any kindness to my complexion! Walkyrie lip pencil has a really nice nude plum shade, though. I’ve only tried it out once so far but I think it has already found its way into my heart ❤

3. and 4. Molton Brown Seamoss Bath & Shower Gel RRP: £10 (50ml) x2

I got 2 bottles of these as a mistake clearly. It should have been one of these and one Gucci Shower Gel. However as Molton Brown is just a bit more pricey and as they are both shower gels anyway I figured there’s no point of me contacting customer service to ask to replace one shower gel with the other. I don’t particularly like to complain, although you’d hear completely different story if this was a make up item 😀 This shower gel is told to be a medicine against stress and fatigue and is infused with seaweed and horse chestnut. I have to admit I really like the fragrance, it’s fresh with a hint of sweetness, so I think this might be nice!

5.theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette RRP: £35

This is an item I’m most excited about! It contains 12 eye shadows, and let’s be honest the design of their products is adorable! The shadows are a mix of shimmery and matte colours, although there are a couple more shimmery ones, which if you know me at all – pleases me haha. The lighter ones can be great for very natural dewy looks on their own. My favourite ones so far are Stubborn, Sexy, Serious and Stand-offish. There’s also a fair sized mirror that can only be a plus!

Verdict: Cohorted boxes have yet to disappoint me and I hope they won’t! The biggest plus for me is the eyeshadow palette, my collection is growing with every Cohorted box and I love the fact that they have included a different palette in every box I got! The lip pencil was another great addition. However, I do have to take points off for the shower gel: -1 point for the fact that they made a mistake and gave me two of the same shower gels instead of two different ones, but also I think the fact that there are two shower gels included in one box is a bit unthoughtful and boring (-2 for that). Saying that a bonus extra sample is a nice move, so I decided to give them +1 for it. Meaning my verdict is 8/10 – and I think that’s pretty great! I’m a “happy puppy” 🙂

Have you tried any of these? What’s your experience? Any theBalm fans?

Mini haul makes my heart warm – from Confessions of a Shopaholic

First of all a little personal update, so feel free to skip this to the products review. !

I know I’ve been too quiet lately, which is due to my new job and extra activities as I am trying to be more active in general. And people who know me very well – know that I do enjoy laziness haha. I am trying to reach my weight goal and I hit a wall these last two weeks, after losing some weight – it just won’t budge! At the same time, I have been recolouring my hair and let me tell you – it takes a lot of time. So far I went through colour removing, bleaching session, toning, then a lot of moisturising masks and coconut oil over the days. And bleaching, toning and moisturising sessions once again. What it got me so far is going from red – to dark ginger – light ginger with yellowish roots – to white hair from roots to mid, and light light orange from mid to ends. And this morning I’ve put in temporary dyes in, a mix between washed out pink and washed out purple shades. I finally feel I’m getting really close to my dreamed mermaid hair, even though, my orange mid to ends hair did not budge to these, the top looks exactly as I want all of it be. So this gets me really excited. But more about this will be on the blog once I’m done experimenting! Anyhoo, coming back from work and taking extra extra care of my hair has been really time consuming! If it helps – I feel guilty every day! 🙂 Now to my mini haul ——>

Dragon’s Loyalty Award

Soooo I was surprisingly nominated for this by stash matters, one of my top blogs to read! If you aren’t following this beauty blog yet, you certainly should! This Canadian girl can show you what a real make up obsession looks like – her collection is jaw-dropping :D. You should go to her blog right now.

The Dragon’s Loyalty Award is an award for the loyal fan/commenter, whether the recipient is a fellow blogger or just someone who follows and comments regularly.

The Rules:

  • Display the award certificate on your website
  • Announce your win with a post and link to whoever presented your award
  • Present 15 awards to deserving bloggers
  • Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them in the post
  • Post 7 interesting things about yourself

7 interesting things about me:

1.I like rain. You know, on the days when I’m not in a rush to go anywhere and then it starts raining – the fresh smell of rain and the feel of it on your skin is sometimes really refreshing. (Maybe I’m just a weirdo, but…)

2.I collect all kinds of different elephant figurines – so far the collection is made of 13 elephants. I hope to achieve much higher number. My boy says we’ll need a room for solely our elephants one day. (I look forward to it haha)

3.I also purchase lots of books, new shelves will be needed very soon!

4.I never travel without music. I always used to, since teenage years. But during the last year I found out that I actually can’t travel on a bus/ car etc. for a longer time without my earphones and music. As otherwise I start getting a tiny bit car-sick, which then pushes me into a mild panic attack, as being sick scares me. Panicking makes it worse, of course. And even though, I wasn’t aware of it, music really relaxes me and changes my experience of travelling.

5.I want three dogs in the future : a chichuaha (because they have big characters in their tiny bodies), beagle and a husky (which is my childhood dream).

6.I have a very “sweet tooth” and it’s a constant battle!

7.I am trying to plan my wedding, which is going very slowly so far. It is way too stressful – so an elopement is an option.

Now I won’t be nominating anyone as I think all of you have already done this but if you haven’t and feel like this might be an interesting post to do – feel free to let me know and I will add you on here 🙂

Hope this is somewhat interesting post to read, guys!

J. ❤
